RISK ASSESSMENT

Regulation 3 of the Management of Health and Safety At Work Regulations 1999 charges the employer to perform a suitable and sufficient assessment (and review/re-assessment) of the risks to Health and Safety of -

  • their employees whilst at work
  • others affected by the conduct of their undertaking (Visitors, Contractors, Sub-Contractors, Neighbours)

for the purpose of identifying measures necessary to comply with relevant legislation including fire precautions.

Where five or more are employed, the employer shall record -

  • the significant findings of the assessment
  • any group of employees identified as being especially at risk

Independent Health and Safety Advice (IHASA) can perform general risk assessments using existing internal proforma or can generate, in partnership with the organisation, a form of assessment most useful to their undertaking

Following the general risk assessment, it is very likely that further, more specific, risk assessments will need to be performed such as COSHH, Display Screen Equipment (DSE) or Manual Handling for example. There will be no obligation on you to commission the services of IHASA to perform more specific risk assessment(s), but all services associated with any recommendations will be available at very competitive rates.
